Rare 1890 Edison Talking Doll w/ Original Phonograph

EDISON TALKING DOLL
The doll is 22 tall, it has a metal body, articulated wooden limbs, and a Simon and Halbig #719 Bisque Head. It has the phonograph mechanism inside the body. I believe the clothes on this doll are not the original clothes and I am not sure if the hair is original or not. This doll is in great shape, I have included many photos so that you can judge the condition for your self.
The phonograph inside the doll played a prerecorded wax cylinder, the child had to turn a crank by hand at a steady speed in order for the doll to recite the six-second nursery rhyme, the wax cylinders wore out very quickly. There is no wax cylinder with this doll. I do not have the crank that was used to play the cylinders.
This is a very, very rare Doll. This doll was only marketed a few short weeks in early 1890. The first dolls were offered for sale on April 7, 1890, the doll was a failure and production stopped in May 1890. Less than 500 completed dolls were sold and most of those were returned by unhappy customers. All Edison dolls are very scarce today but those with the original phonograph intact are extremely rare, there are only a few known to exist. (The majority of Edison dolls today don t have any phonograph mechanism). This doll does have the original phonograph and is in great condition making it extremely rare.

Welcome to this auction for a one of a kind, incredible, exquisite Unicorn! I purchased him from a gallery in California where he was on display with fairies and gnomes. Unfortunately, I did not purchase his friends. He is an antique, sculpted out of a light weight material, my best guess is fiberglass.
His sculpting is outstanding with elaborate flowing lines that capture the musculature of this beautiful animal wonderfully. He has a soulful look to his face as if he were alive. This Unicorn is life size measuring approximately 75 inches from the ground to the tip of his horn and 65 inches from the tip of his ear to the ground. He is approx. 88 inches long from his tail to the tip of his horn. He is somewhat light weight, approx. 30-40 lbs. and stands on his rear legs with the tail providing stabilization.
He is done in white color paint with an iridescent glitter over the top that provides fabulous shading. A faux fur mane and tail (cotton candy like, whispy)complete his majestic look. Please note again, that this fabulous fellow is an antique. He is shabby chic, does have a few scuffs but these do add to his character. He wears a beaded accent around this waist as well as his chest which include rusty, shabby bells. This beading has been repaired, glued, but again this adds to his mystique. A metal white star also hangs down the middle of his forehead.
